Neubauer counting chamber
The counting chamber is used to determine the number of particles per unit volume of liquid. The base plate is made of a special optical glass the size of a basic glass. Hollow grooves divide the base plate surface. In the middle strip - the bottom of the chamber - two counting grids are engraved separated by a groove. The bottom of the center strip compartment is generally 0.1 mm lower - the depth of the chamber - than the two outer strips. This creates a 0.1 mm wide gap between the center strip and the applied coverslip. The side limit of the counted volume is made of the vertical surfaces on border lines of counting grids.
The chambers are available in two versions. Characteristic for the version with an improved double grid is that the counting area of the groups of squares is separated from the outer ones by a triple boundary line.
Versions:
• with dark lines
• with improved double grid
