Nitinol tracheal stent

The self-expanding tracheal stent is made of a nitinol (titanium-nickel) mesh. This flexible and durable tool is used to clear blocked or narrowed airways. Thanks to its flexible structure, it is easy to use. The procedure is safe for the patient because it is based on bloodless and quick implantation. The stent is designed to maintain proper mucus transport. The product comes in different lengths.


The size of the stent is selected using the X-ray image according to the principle:
• Diameter: + 30% to X-ray tracheal diameter
• Length: lower limit 1.0 to 1.5 cm from the tracheal bifurcation , upper limit: 3-4 tracheal ring
• The placement of the stent in the trachea is carried out under the control of an endoscope (with a working channel for air exchange)
• The diameter of the endoscope must be appropriate to the diameter of the trachea
